PA Student Editors' Interest Group
(SEIG)
Who We Are
A critical part of the Pennsylvania Newspaper Association Foundation’s mission
is reaching out to college and high school journalists and their advisers. The future
of the industry relies heavily on how young people view newspapers and the journalism
career path. In an effort to reach future journalists and readers, and to show our
support for college newspapers, the Foundation and the Pennsylvania Society of Newspaper
Editors (PSNE) established a Student Editors’ Interest Group.
This interest
group is made up of college journalists and their advisers from colleges and
universities across the Commonwealth. Similar to the professional industry, many
college newspapers are faced with budget constraints and little resources. The Foundation
and PSNE realize the importance of preserving and promoting campus newspapers. The Student Editors’ Interest Group provides a forum for student-newspaper
journalists to discuss common challenges and concerns.
We invite all Pa student
journalists and their newspapers advisers to join the Student Editors’ Interest
Group.
To become a member, simply contact at Janet Bevan. You
will be added to our list serv and to receive updates about activities and opportunities
available to members of the Student Editors’ Interest Group.
